Maryn McKenna , Superbug, all you dare to know about multi drug resistant staph
Ms McKenna is journalist and author specializing in infectious disease, global health and health policy.
She has recently wrote a book called Superbug: The Fatal Menace of MRSA about the international epidemic of drug-resistant staph. She will speak to us about her research on MRSA. In the meantime you can listen to her recent interview on NPR's Fresh Air.
Maryn works for national magazines, a major medical journal and a millions-visitor web site.
She has a very impressive speaking history.
She also teaches journalists how to write about science and scientists how to understand journalists.

AndyTreasurerIn my opinion, she was the best speaker I have seen so far at the Science Tavern. She exhibited a complete mastery of her subject along with a fascinating ability to present it as a riveting and compelling narrative. My hat is off to Maryn McKenna.

JohnExcellent speaker! A topic that needs more media coverage (which results in demand for more funding for research, etc.), but I'm sure no one wants to panic the populace.
