How to Use Your New Telescope - The Atlanta Astronomy Club

In November Mark Banks and the Atlanta Astronomy Club helped us understand the ends and outs of buying a telescope. (See image above.) Now, in the new year, they return to help us learn how to use the new telescope that we just bought - or that someone bought for us.

I've had a "new" telescope for 3 years, but haven't known how to use it. The AAC folks were so gracious and helpful. So, so appreciated.

Like the others - the AAC folk provided great answers for us. I feel more confident in moving forward with this as a new hobby! Thanks!

Sad to see that I missed the "how to buy a telescope" last time around. I have kind of a silly question- does one need to bring their telescope to this event?

Ryan, no telescope is necessary for this event. Marc

A friend gave me a used DS60 Saturn by Meade. I know I'm missing the power cord or battery and a manual. On the base is a "Computer Control" label, so I assume there is also some software needed. Is there a store that I could take the Saturn to and have someone tell me what is missing or broken and where to replace it?

    thanks

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
