Science Singles Social 40up with TED Talk

Once again, we'll be kicking off the evening with a TED Talk to start the discussion for the evening.

For those not familiar with TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design), it is a nonprofit devoted to "Ideas Worth Spreading." Their TED Talks have set a new standard for public communication about science and technology, among other things.

Do you have a favorite TED Talk? We welcome suggestions for the one we will feature at this meetup. Browse their library here and leave links to your recommendations in the comment section below. Remember, the topic should be science, technology, medicine or environment-related.

Yes, thank you Kathleen. I did have a good time. (I was the one with the beer with three limes perched on the rim. (You commented, so thought maybe you might remember.)

Thanks Kathleen for organizing. It was fun to have time for conversation and find out what types of science people are interested in, as well as watch the TED talk.

I am very sorry "and sad" that I can't come to this meetup. "Have no driver license in USA". Someone else can take my place. Regards

I am in Lawrenceville, Georgia. I will be happy, if this possible.

Unfortunately I am very far away on the other side of town out in West Ga. If no one can help for this meetup, advertise well in advance for the next one you would like to attend. And work on that license! You'll need a car in this town unless you live on a safe part of MARTA

I am very sorry that I am unable to attend. I have a work deadline that I did not have when I signed up. I hope someone can take my place. Thanks!

Is there a price for attending or are donations used instead?

    June 16, 2014

    • Marc M.

Nope, Carly, there's no price for attending and we aren't asking for donations. - Marc

Is there a TED talk selected yet?
If not, here's one for consideration.

    June 11, 2014

    • Kathleen

Yes, there will be time for dinner. Manual's has a good menu.

    Hello,
I went to the first one and had a great time, learned a lot and met some wonderful people. If you let repeat attenders on the guest list, I will go again.
