Introduction

I am a technology professional in the Atlanta area who is very interested in science & nature and science education. I used to work at the CDC and wanted to start a way for me and others to continue learning about science news and views in a fun and

What are your favorite subjects regarding science?

I'm interested in neuroscience and cognition, computer science and engineering, astronomy, biology, anthropology, etc

Where do you currently get your science news?

New Scientist, Discover, the New York Academy of Science Science & The City Podcast, Skepticality, SETI Are We Alone, NPR

What do you think will make science more appreciated and interesting to the general public?

I am a fan of Carl Sagan's approach to educating about science. He told the human stories of discovery, not just the "nuts and bolts". I think that scientists today often neglect this important reality when they try to communicate with lay people. The human story of scientific discovery is the greatest story ever told. Science and technology are the foundation to our entire modern society. It's time we start telling the human stories behind the discoveries and the discoverers again that inspire our young people to dream big, curiousty-filled dreams that lead them to success.
