The web and PBS.
I think if people realized how science affects and improves their lives, it might be more appreciated. For example, iPods didn't just spring fully formed from the head of Jobs, science made them possible. I also think learning the basics of determining the credibility of articles on the web and elsewhere should be a major impetus in science education. I think when people learn to spot unsubstantiated claims, they will be even more awestruck by real science.
PhD student. Interested in everything to varying degrees.
Seeing this many people turn out on a cold rainy night to hear someone speak about science restores my faith in humanity. This is great!
