50 Year Anniversary of JFK Assassination

November marks the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's assassination. This one tragic event spawned what is perhaps the most enduring cluster of conspiracy theories the world has ever known. It also may have spawned the Vietnam War and an opening for a manager at a Dallas night club. But we're going to focus on the conspiracy theory thing.

Join us as we take a look back (and to the left) at magic bullets, grassy knolls, mob hits, and babushka ladies. We're going to relive those days when any assassination theory you could imagine was more likely than the laughable one about a lone nut with a rifle in a warehouse.

Christian Walters is an Atlanta technical writer and instructional designer. He is also a history buff and a huge fan of conspiracy theories. He was one of the founding members of the Atlanta Skeptics and was the main organizer for a brief time until the most recent Regime Change/Bloodless Coup. You can find Christian as a regular panelist on the award-ready podcast Ask A Canadian.

Dinner and social hour starts at 6pm with the presentation to follow.
We will be in the North Avenue room (from the front door take a right and head all the way back).

Lisa makes a great point. Yes, great job keeping your composure with the whoopin' and hollerin' going on next door. For those who are interested, CBS is going to stream the original broadcasts from 1963 starting this Friday afternoon: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-201_162-57612192/cbsnews.com-to-stream-1963-broadcast-coverage-of-jfk-assassination/

Just for my own curiosity -- anyone have a favorite JFK assassination conspiracy? Zapruder film edited so it doesn't show Kennedy going down in a hail of bullets from 7 directions? Magic bullet not actually found until 1977? CEO of Ford Motors seeing fleeing from Dallas that afternoon in a Chevrolet?

You people are trying to get me to give away my presentation, but it's not going to work. You have to come to the meeting.

Heard one about Jacqueline Kennedy being part of the plot. She was actually CIA and after killing her husband crawled to the back of the convertible to hand off the gun.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
