Maria,

Thank you for the update!  I am interested in the Dragon Con events.  How do I get access to them?  I'm new to Dragon Con (and Atlanta for that matter).  Do I need to purchase Dragon Con tickets, etc?

Thank you,

David Noble

Hi all

I apologize for the mass emails but there are several cool events coming up that I wanted to share!

September 1, 2011
Atlanta Skeptics Star Party!
I've been plugging this a lot so I won't go into too much detail but just wanted to let you know that tickets are selling really fast. We've also confirmed the fabulous George Hrab, in addition to Phil Plait, Pamela Gay and Nicole Gugliucci. Also, Nicole has asked me to acquire liquid nitrogen. Do with that information what you will; all I know? This party is going to kick ass :)

September 1-5, 2011
Dragon*Con/Skeptrack is upon us! Once again, Derek Colanduno and Robynn "Swoopy" McCarthy are busting their butts to put together an amazing program for us. This year's schedule is out and promises to be absolutely fantastic! Hopefully we'll see you there!

September 3, 2011
Walk in the Dragon*Con parade with Margaret Downey's Anti-Superstition group! Margaret Downey, Founder and President of the Freethought Society, will be costuming at the Dragon*Con parade and needs volunteers! She's specifically looking for women and will provide costume
s, sizes 6-12.

The theme of the group will be the
Friggatriskaidekaphobia Treatment Center. More info here. If you are interested, contact Margaret directly for details! It should be a lot of fun. Email: [address removed]

October 1-2, 2011
Camp Quest South Carolina
Amy Monsky, the Camp Director for Camp Quest, South Carolina, contacted me because they are starting a new Camp Quest not too far away from us! For those of you who aren't familiar, Camp Quest is a summer camp with a focus on fun, friends, and freethought, and is aimed at the children from atheist, secular humanist, and other free-thinking families.

The first week-long summer camp for kids 8-17yo will be NEXT summer, 2012, but they are having a weekend camp for the whole family (as in the youngest baby to the oldest grandparent) October 1-2, 2011. Note: Deadline for Registration is 8/25/2011. More details in this flyer.

Hope you're all doing well!
Maria
