Atlanta SkeptiCamp 2013

There are just over three weeks remaining before Atlanta SkeptiCamp 2013, which will be held May 3rd through 5th at the office location of MD Tech Pro, 3580 Pierce Dr, Atlanta GA 30341.

Originating from BarCamp, SkeptiCamps tend to be light on prearranged agenda, but at the moment the outline is as follows.

Friday night will be a social event for people to get together and meet any new attendees.

Saturday and Sunday will be two days of fantastic presentations by great local skeptics talking about things they are passionate about.

Saturday evening we will have a very special game show event hosted by our very own Derek Colanduno of Skepticality.

Planning is well under way but SkeptiCamps are a community driven event and we need everyone's help to make this one the best yet!

First, we will be catering the event as well as printing SkeptiCamp TShirts. In order to do that we need a good headcount. So please take a few minutes to register, either via the meetup page or the external registration page (

Second, there are still presenter slots available. If you have ever thought about giving a presentation, or have anything at all you would like to talk about, please reach out. Talks can be as short as ten minutes and do not require fancy powerpoints. Topics range from Greek philosophy to the usage of newspaper to wrap fish, so feel free to get creative!

Lastly we still need volunteers to help Mark Ditsler with the AV. This is a critical piece of the whole event and your contribution would be greatly appreciated! Please reach out either to myself ([address removed]) or Mark Ditsler ([address removed]).

To be clear, if you just want to come along and enjoy the event please feel free! Also if you know anyone else you think might be interested in attending, please help spread the word. This is a great outreach opportunity and as many people we can introduce to skepticism the better!
