Come this month and tantalize your taste buds by being transported to a Deli in Ireland!

Eating vegan doesn’t mean you have to give up comfort foods! In this class you will learn to make two quick dishes, the mouthwatering Irish Potato Leek Soup and an exotic Vegan Chik’n Salad Sandwich – 2 Deli foods made vegan without the extra calories! Plus as always you will learn something new in our mini health seminar to help you on your healthful journey to complete wellness!

Here are the dishes you will learn to prepare:

 1. "Irish Potato Leek Soup"

A creamy coconut cream base with bite size chunks of tender potatoes simmered in caramelized leeks with a rich vegan broth of aromatic herbs like dill and parsley, garnished with a tinge of roasted garlic.

2. "Vegan Chik’n Salad Sandwich"
A mixture of celery and onions sautéed in vegan butter tossed with faux chik’n (made of seitan) topped with granny smith apples and raisins and a touch of vegan mayonnaise seasoned with exotic spices like caraway, cumin and anise on Irish sour dough bread.

The hosts were knowledgeable. Several helpful hints were offered. But I actually went to hear what the hosts had to say and it was annoying to have so much input and rhetoric from the other guests. I would suggest a question and answer period at the end of the presentation. Also a "source" list for ingredients used in the class would eliminate a lot of the questions. That way the flow of the presentation would not be interrupted. The food was great.
