General Meetings Meetings are a big benefit of AMUG membership. As one of the largest User Groups in the southeast, AMUG has an active meeting schedule.
Our monthly meetings feature some of the top Macintosh hardware and software vendors. AMUG's membership includes some of the leading Mac experts in this part of the country, so knowledge is gained in our open forums from other members on a vast array for subjects. From database design to digital video, you can usually get an answer from a fellow AMUG member.
AMUG Monthly General Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at the GA Equality Center in Decatur, unless otherwise noted. Admission is free for everyone. Members receive a free raffle ticket for valuable door prizes. Two raffle tickets if you wear an AMUG t-shirt, three tickets if you wear an AMUG collared shirt. Members who bring a guest receive an additional raffle ticket.
Arrive early to the meeting and join us for snacks and socializing with fellow members, guests, and occasionally that night's presenter. The meeting itself starts at 7:00 p.m. with about thirty minutes of questions and answers from the audience on hardware and software issues. Challenge our experts and see if you can get an answer from one of the experts in our group. Our formal presentation for the evening is usually presented by experts or product representatives like Apple, Adobe and Microsoft.
Around 9:00 p.m. we break for a quick stretch, announcements about upcoming events, and handling of other AMUG business matters. At the end of the evening we hold a raffle for door prizes for attendees holding tickets (most meetings). From time to time we offer special receptions or socials like the our Holiday party are held either before or after the meetings. All meetings are subject to change, so it's a good idea to regularly check our Facebook Page, Meetup Group, or website, to keep informed of the latest meeting news.
