Not sure any actual ghosts will turn up as we will miss the Autumnal Equinox by a few days. However, the moon will be just over 80% and rising around 5pm. The sun sets at 7.26, which puts us right in the golden hour before the cemetery closes at 8.30. It seems the perfect time to explore the largest cemetery in New Zealand.
Of particular interest is the oldest section dating from 1886, which runs along Glenview Road from Glen Eden. But there are numerous ethnic and religious areas as well. There is parking along the road and there is an unmarked entrance there as well (or you can simply jump the fence.) I suggest we meet up there.
Definitely bring tripods. Neutral density filters may also come in handy. Note - the area is hilly and the sun will set behind a large, photogenic hill.
I suggest the 24th as a rain date.
