Great to meet all of you guys! As I mentioned, happy to help if any of you want to have a play with any of the brain-sensing devices that we had with us today. If you like, I am happy to do a hands-on test-drive/play session next or some other time we meet: I can bring a couple of units and have one of the guys from my team join us to help too. Otherwise, get in touch with me individually and we'll go from there. See you next time!

Dmitry, I'd be keen to learn more (sorry, I missed the session last week)...I've had a Melon (http://bit.ly/1sfAjMx) on order for ages. So it is either good news that it is shipping soon (until it gets delayed again) or bad news because you could have taught me something better...

Hi Pete. Sure, happy to talk. We're waiting on Melon as well. I've talked to the guys in San Francisco a month ago, it's definitely coming soon :-)

I guess everyone has seen the Vessyl hype (http://on.mash.to/1y3irok) by now... I think this would be great (automating my fluid tracking would be useful, although I can imagine the social acceptability of it being fairly low). But I am getting increasingly hesitant about pre-ordering stuff years in advance, that then morphs (the Scanadu ScoUt has been released to Kickstarter backers, but now has all kinds of unexpected conditions around it...)

Just a few more links also..
Stumbled on this one from Tim Ferriss:

Also if anyone has any source for pine pollen that would be greatly appreciated!

http://supermanherbs.... They are out of Santa Cruz in the US, so not sure how much shipping would be. May be available on eBay. These posts on GymNation -http://www.gymnation.... - from 2009 says someone found a local source on K Rd, but is was very pricey.

    Hey just a heads up
    1) I have uploaded the presentation / PPT if anyone was interested to here: http://www.meetup.com/Auckland-Quantified-Self-Meetup-Group/files/

    2) Mark, Tim and are going to purchase the Emotiv unit, and Mark was going to take us 3 (and my wife) through some meditation lessons up at the Buddhist temple, while we track our brain waves if anyone wanted to come along. Also if anyone was wanting to come around and experiment when it is my turn with the Emotiv, just let me know.

      3) Tim Carr from www.mindkits.co.nz didnt manage to make it to the session, but we have been chatting about him helping to build this hackaday Polar HR data extractor (via Wifi). This basically hacks the HR monitor, so that you can just get a full HR feed, and not need to buy the $300 watch). Again if anyone wants to borrow once finished, or get one made up, just let me know.

Tim is also chatting to a friend of Dmitry's about building an LED Lucid dreaming mask. I also have seen some schematics for a hypnotic induction program which takes the brain offline through the use of a sequence of flashing colors (there are some cool open source projects on this). Haven't played with it but it sounds pretty cool.

Note that Tim also runs the Mindkits meetup and was open to doing a guest event with us (eg sharing our meetup date on his group, and there are a lot of electrical geeks on his group who may well be keen to come along to a session) - I think he gets about 10-30 people along (only if this helps you Camille!).

      4) Camille, Tim, Dmitry and I are all happy to be on camera, and I can get more sleep so won't talk so damn much!

      5) If anyone wants to borrow my oxygen tank I have a spare one (Don you said you might be interested), no worries if you just want to borrow it I can include a spare month's oxygen pack for you too).
