Listen to The Pretenders like never before

Thursday 20 February 6pm & 7pm sessions

Audio Lounge run a series of regular events called Audio Lounge Listens, during which they invite members of the public into their luxury store to enjoy listening to a classic album played through a high-end audio system. This gives the listener an opportunity to hear a well known album like never before. Next up, we're playing The Pretender's album 'Pretenders'.

Pretenders is the debut studio album by the British-American new wave band The Pretenders, released on 27 December 1979 under Real Records. A combination of rock, punk, and pop music, this album made the band famous.

Audio Lovers London are invited to come along to the event at one of the two sessions.

Entry is free of charge but guests are invited to make a discretionary donation to Audio Lounge's nominated charity. Places are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis so be sure to arrive early!

Listening to The Pretenders brought me back to my high school days. And hearing the album all the way through a Nagra CD Deck, Dan D'Agostino pre-amp & amp and Crystal Cables' Arabesque "Glass Monolith" speakers capped off the day in the most positive way.

Great album, remember the day it came out and everyone being Wild for Hynde - Chrissie rocked our worlds after our very own Deborah Harry, that's another story. They were all over Trouser Press and the band rocked the NYC scene in the late 70's - playing all the clubs including CBGBs <tip of the hat to Hilly> (if you don't know Google and track down the excellent documentary)
