Augmented Reality at CES and MWC in Barcelona

  • Feb 21, 2013 · 6:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

This Meetup will be a comprehensive look back at what Augmented Reality was on show at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas and a look forward to what will be on show at MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona.

We are going to try something new as well.

We will be running a side bar session after our main presentation and discussion group, this will be a chance to explore any commercial possibilities, leads or ideas that you may have with Neil Davidson our marketing expert.

At our next Meetup in March there will also be a technical discussion group, this is a chance to meet and talk technical with our talented AR department.

Having discussed the info snacking AR category last night and seen the Google Glass and Vuzix M100 videos and the Vuzix M100 description and Mock up, does anyone have further comments as to the most valuable use cases, user types, applications, etc?

I wish I was at the event tonight, but I went to Glug: there was presentation of Web Lab project @Science Museum. It has some, in a way, an augmented reality component. First, there is a personalised card which is used to identify user of the exhibits. One would be able to use it at home by scanning a card through web cam and accessing personal creations. The other is a robot that prints user's face on the sand. Is interpretation of reality is a subset of augmentation?

After Ken's presentation and the line about AR will disappear.
