Hack Night

Let's do lightening talks this month! Please prepare a five minute talk on a subject you're interested in or knowledgeable about to share. These will be very informal and quick.

We'll have pizza and wine to snack on, as well as a projector and computer for those who wish to use slides for their talks.

We had several good lightning talks about various technologies our members use and are excited about, such as front end development, mobile, and game development. I gave a talk on Powershell, a Windows scripting language. My (improved) presentation is now on my website at http://sf.geekitude.com/content/introduction-powershell-lightning-talk. It is in HTML, embedded in the web page.

It was so fun to come together with a group of creative technical women for an evening. We did "lightning talks" and I enjoyed hearing about what everyone was interested in. I tossed around some ideas with some of the ladies and got some good feedback. The pizza and wine were a nice touch. It was a really fun and productive night!

That sounds like a great resource for the group! I'll give a talk on Web Accessibility. See you all soon!

Kari, I'd love for you to take the lead on this! I can supplement with whatever extra I have.

Hey everyone! I don't really have a lightning talk prepared, but I did want to share some of the resources I've found through my own exploration for self-paced or group learning. This includes books, text editors, online tutorials and websites, and email lists, so if anyone has something useful they'd like to add, I'd really appreciate it!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
