Jan Heaton: line / form /color Opening Reception

Jan Heaton: line / form /color Opening Reception

Date / Time:

Saturday, January 5

6pm to 8pm

Wally Workman Gallery

at 1202 W. 6th Street, 78703

About Artist:

Heaton’s watercolors are known for their translucent, graceful layering and are included in collections across the country. This show line/form/color is a continuation of her mastery in the medium. The concept began three years ago with an early morning discovery of tiny moving creatures near the ocean’s edge. Heaton became interested in their independent yet united forms, creating one moving, fluid configuration. Their beings mirrored the colors of the water, the atmosphere, their environment, and were constantly changing. Throughout her show, she translates this sense of color, form, and line, replicating patterns of movement. She has created rhythm with quiet translucent veils of color that is contemplative and regenerative. In the end, the work becomes a permanent visual space that influences our sense of well-being. Didn't get to meet anybody from this group. There were many people which made it hard to tell who's whom. It's always good to see Rachel and
Wally. Also purchased a piece by Radstrom. http://www.wallyworkmangallery.com/jane-radstrom.lasso
