Evolution of God & Robert Wright vs. Daniel Dennet debate

In Robert Wright's book, The Evolution of God, he seems to follow a view that seeks to accept BOTH evolution (and modern science in general) as well as the existence of a “higher purpose”, which some people might call God.

The book, which is being discussed on Dec 12 as part of the Beer & Cookies Book Club, is quite a tome. Robert Wright's webpage for his book, The Evolution of God, can be found at:

The Evolution of God Webpage

Interestingly, there are a number of YouTube videos on the topic, including a series on Wright’s discussions/debates/interviews with various modern philosophers. One is an 8 part series of video clips on YouTube that detail his interview with Daniel Dennett, who takes a very agnostic view of our existence (i.e., no higher purpose beyond our own.)

The link to the first clip of this interview can be found at:

Interesting and intelligent discussions about the meaning of existence and whether or not there is a God on YouTube (sans keyboard playing cats). Who knew?

Gary, yes there's actually a lot of very stimulating (intellectually) stuff on Youtube. Hey thanks for this well presented post!
