The word "community" has become a buzz word that has many possible meanings. What is your definition of community?

Community begins when we realize that the fulfillment of our needs, desires and wants comes from outside us. We are dependent upon the external. In turn, we begin to know that the self is not complete until we are meeting the needs of others.

What interests you about community living and/or what has your experience been with it?

We have lived in 'communal' housing for almost 3 years. We hope to continue that experience on a deeper level, involving a greater commitment to the sustainability of our household.

Do you posess any skills or expertise that you might want to share with the group?

I am a novice gardener, raise and milk nigerian dwarf goats, grow chickens for meat and for eggs, and am a wildlife enthusiast. I also teach young children and try to introduce them to the basics of permaculture and sustainability.
