First Friday contra dance

  • April 5, 2013 · 7:30 PM
  • United Campus Ministry Wesley Bldg

Time to start the weekend right, and get your contra on!

NOTE: This Friday's special dance will be held in SAN MARCOS (at the United Campus Ministry Wesley Bldg, 510 N. Guadalupe St.)

A teaching session begins about 7:30 to give newcomers a head start, and allow regulars to brush up on their style. We usually have 50-60 regular dancers attending, so first-timers will have lots of help to make sure you have lots of fun! No costume is necessary, and you don't have to bring a partner--but if you've got some friends who'd like to have some fun, please bring them along! Women: we suggest wearing a comfortable dress/skirt, as wearing long pants can get a bit warm. Wear soft-soled shoes. Light refreshments will be provided.

Admission is $9, $8 for TAADA members, and $5 for under-18s and college students with a valid ID.  Plenty of parking available!

Looking forward to seeing you!

Thanks Larry. Adding awareness of the large Contra community in Austin and surrounding areas via meetup has given me a new fun activity and new friends.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
