Have you ever contra danced before? If so, how long have you been contra dancing?

Yes! On and off for about 15 years.

Do you do any other kinds of dancing? If so, what styles do you do?

Yes, English Country Dancing. I got hooked on dancing with the Austin International Folk Dancers, the UT University Folk Dancers, and then Michel Breger's Waltz Across Texas and the World Free University Class at the Union.

Other than liking the dance style, what's the one thing that makes you want to come back to another dance?

The people are friendly and helpful to newcomers and it's great exercise.

Where do you get most of your information about upcoming dance events?

Ann McCracken's and Chuck Roth's emails.

Introduction

There's dancing of every sort to be found in Austin but I find Contra to be extremely fun and energetic. I love the mix of people that attend--from all ages and stages of life. And the music and exercise are GREAT!
