Bee Cave Road - Sunday Brunch Ride

Our Sunday ride is now better than ever with the move to Two Saints! We're back to having a real brunch-after-the-ride option.

This ride is mostly B riders and we welcome A riders who want a recovery ride or beginners that want a buddy to hang back with them.  We range in speeds from 13 to 18 MPH and some of us will always adjust for the slowest rider.

Our base ride is 16 miles and there are options for riding up to 34 miles depending on who speaks up and shows up. Going back to the bakery gives us the option to add on the Rough Hollow/Bee Cave Parkway roller coaster and lots of extra miles.

Please chime in on your ride length preferences by making a comment on the ride page each week. I'll post some maps after we regroup a little on leaving from this location.

No drop, all levels welcome! We're moving this ride later as the fall encroaches and we're not having to leave early to beat the heat. Please arrive no later than 9:00 to air up and water up.

Wheels down at 9:15 this week sharp!

Anyone up for a longer ride, may be we can add the high school and if some one is up, may be 360 loop?

Hey all put my two cents in here. It is an easy ride some hills but are not bad but I am from PA sooooo!! This is a no drop ride for all levels. When we have a large group we usually split in two and the faster rocket riders (LOL) go out at their pace. We also have a more leisurely group. There are also areas where you can add on to the ride to make it longer. We usually take a poll at the 1/2 way point and split up accordingly. We regroup after the ride for coffee, water, or whatever you want at the Cafe'. We have a great group!! Hope this helps. Look forward to seeing you there. :-)

When I say 1/2 way point I mean at the 8.5 mile mark.

    Hey gang,
Allison will not be there for the Sunday rides. I can keep it posted if you'd like. We just need someone to watch out for each other. Let me know your thoughts.

here is at map for the ride.

amit is right it is a simple out and back for the most part. the 17mi route has 3 main hills that you do twice. so 6 climbs total. if you know how to use your gears and have some endurance you can finish. if you are not a good climber you will definitely get a work-out.

How is the terrain Allison? Rolling, hilly, flat for the 16 mile route, etc? This would be my first group ride so trying to see if it's appropriate. The mileage isn't a problem but terrain may be.

      January 29, 2013

  • Amy H.

I'm doing an 18 mile on loop 360 the day before so I'd like to know what the terrain is like for this ride as well. Thanks!

This is much easier than 360 loop, it's basically a easy ride with hills but the hills are not bad at all, I think u will b fine, I am doing a 30 mile a day before, so I think u shouldn't worry

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
