Thursday Night Northern Ride : Intermediate ride

  • February 7, 2013 · 6:00 PM
  • Lake Pflugerville (parking lot)

Its Thursday and we need to ride!! The routes will change regularly to keep it fresh. Speed will be 16+ avg speed depending on wind of course.

This Thursday's ride. http://connect.garmin...

Wheels roll at 6:15pm

Required: Lights ... Front steady beam and a back red blinking light ( required by law )

Working bike, Helmet, Water, Food, Tube, co2 and anything else you need to keep you and yourself rolling.

We can do two laps for 50 miles if anyone is up for it. This route is pretty safe and minimal traffic. Usually see 4 cars on this route the whole time. Send me a message or post here for questions.

Hope to see you there!!

Here are some good articles to read about pace lines.
The more we ride together on Thursday nights the easier and more efficient we can be.

Just make sure you cover your brakes when on someones wheel and only get as close as you feel comfortable. Bumping someones wheel is a big mistake. We can work on this if everyone is game.

By no means do you need to be a pro at any of this stuff. But when you get in a good pace line a whole new world opens up for you :)

I think I should be able to keep up the speed as long as there are no major hills

Also, this will be a no drop ride. But, you will need to be able to maintain a decent pace - 15+

    How this works ....
We will keep pace up pretty high but will stop and make sure everyone is together before we make a turn onto a different street

For the faster folks... This will give you some good time to practice intervals.

If anyone wants to do a double lap there is a gas station close to the parking lot that we will ride by at the end of the first lap.
    Just FYI

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
