Friday morning Parmer Ride

Ariel is off and wants to lead a beginner/intermediate ride. She'll probably go between 10 and 16 miles, but you're encouraged to find your own turn around spot for the mileage of your choice on this simple out and back trek on Parmer!

Perfect weather for riding - had a good solo ride out 10 miles or so and returned to Scooter's. Friday traffic on the busier stretch of Parmer's is definitely a concern, however, as it increases in late morning.

Ok all, I am seriously sick this morning and SUPER bummed I won't make it. You should still meet and ride, its gorgeous outside. Sorry, and have fun!

+k all, its's 3am and I'm awake and miserable with either a killer cold or my first bout of allergies ever. I will repost by 9am if I won't make it but encourage y'all to feel free to go without me.

Oh and that was 33 minutes going out and 25 coming back. Halfway on Parmer is not half the effort.

That sounds about right on the wind and the pace. I rode on my own on Wednesday and did 14.35 miles in 58 minutes. Let's hope it's blowing towards home tomorrow!!!

And, BTW, the wind on Parmer can be a huge influence. Often when it's up we have a hard time hitting 10MPH. Good news is that you can roll more like 20 MPH with a heavy tailwind without breaking much of a sweat when the wind is that bad going out! It can blow either way so be prepared for a surprise!

Jay, I would suspect from riding with Conrad and Ariel that they might roll about 12-13 MPH. Both of these guys are just getting on the bike again and will be great ride buddies!

Hmmm well I guess I am beginner enough to not know how to answer that, heh.

I've not heard from Ariel about whether she can make it as host. Someone holler at me! And if I can get away in the morning to do it I'll let you know. Gorgeous weather!

Email me directly (not here) please when you find out. I'll post it as soon as you can commit.

I can be the host, though I'm not 100% sure I will be there. I am still waiting for confirmation that I will be off work that day. I say we should do it for 10am to be sure it is warm enough to not cancel :)

I'm happy to post this ride and I'll need someone to list as "host" to make sure to answer questions and be responsible for making sure all are accounted for! I MAY be able to make both of these but can't commit. I'm taking ride planning day by day due to a spinal flare up!

Thanks Joel - it sounds familiar... I think Allison might told me a while back. I'll keep an eye out for those rides. I used to do 40 miles, now 15 might do me in...

I'd be interested too in heading out for an hour or so Friday morning. Except I would need to meet either earlier at 7:30ish or around the noon hour. I have to be online for work at 9 a.m. But I'm just getting going again also so rides of 10-20 miles are great for me right now, too.

Hey Scott. Usually every other Sat morning, there is an out and back ride that leaves from Scooter's Coffee Shop just north of 45 tollway on Parmer. You can make it any length you want and still visit after at the coffee shop for Allison's favorite recovery smoothie.

Wish I could but I'm working. I need to get back on the bike after being off several months... Under 20 miles would be good so I'd be interested on a weekend. I live close to Parmer and looking for folks in the NW part of town to ride with.
