Jester King Brewery Grand Opening Ride

Celebrate the Jester King Brewery grand opening with a ride! We'll start from the brewery and end there for the grand opening at 1PM. There are 36 mile and 19 mile routes planned.

We still need a ride leader for the 19 mile ride. Interested? Email me or Torsten!

More details to come. How could you say no to riding with a fun bunch that ends with a party at a brewery? Definitely a Carb neutral affair!

Can't wait for this, hoping we can get our miles in before the rain!

I can't go now. Bike chain broke & I can't get it fixed in time.

I live in Pflugerville, anyone want to carpool?

I've got maps w/ cue sheets for both routes. How many of each do we need?

    Definitely 36 miles!

I am leaing towards the 36 mile loop as I haven't been riding much due to work and really need the miles.

There have been lots of comments about slower riders, length options, etc, for this event. Please email me your choice of ride level in case it's not been mentioned so I can make sure everyone is covered!

We'll have your back if you need a ride back, or a "stop at the top of the hill to wait" buddy but I'll need some advance warning. All levels of riders welcome!

T, I changed the time last week when you suggested it! See you there!

If there are no objections, let's plan on starting at 11 instead of 10. Jester King Brewery is excited about having us start and end the ride there and will help us get situated.

Come on April, these hills will be nothing worse than any of the rides I saw you on in 2010! Get yer fanny in the saddle and come on!

  • Allison

Yes! The later, the warmer. Still need a start location when you can get it to me.

Do we want to push this ride back an hour? The Jester King Grand Opening Event starts at 1PM.

    Ok, here are the routes:

    20 mile option: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&ll=30.2657,-98.05467&spn=0.073539,0.159988&z=13&msid=202562644095296549582.00049a0c5e159c1cf051c

    36 mile option: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=202562644095296549582.000499fb3ccb0aaa89b78&z=12

I'll be scouting these routes tomorrow morning and will report back.

route scouting has been productive. I have 19 and 36 mile loops I'm looking at...71 has been avoided!

Ditto, Michael! We can't see that map.

Michael - thanks for this. Can you share the route outside of the map my ride application? I'm not a member so I can't add you to view it.... ~bmw

    Hey Allison,
This is the route a small group of us will be riding out to Jester King Brewery. There will probably be between 3-6 of us doing the ride. http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/26907424

Ray, we're going to try and avoid 71 at all cost.

Kind of sad this was a very quite road I used to ride down! However, I would be happy to ride out that way. I love Hamilton Pool road except for the drivers!

Where is this brewery? If you're talking about riding west on 71 toward 620, count me out. Too dangerous/scary for me!

    Sounds totally fun :)

Great idea and I'd love to do it BUT, sorry, dancing trumps everything right now and I will be tied up doing Austin's Free Day of Dance on Jan. 29, http://freedayofdance.com. If the date for the bike ride changes, I'm "in!"

I don't know what a shop ride is, but this sounds doable :)
