Bee Cave Road - Sunday Coffee & Brunch Ride

NEW TIME During Winter months

Please note a move back to Starbucks.

This ride is ALL LEVELS. We're mostly B riders and we welcome A riders who want a recovery ride or beginners that want a buddy to hang back with them.  We range in speeds from 13 to 16 MPH and some of us will always adjust for the slowest rider.

Our base ride is 16 miles and there are options for riding up to 34 miles depending on who speaks up and shows up.

Please arrive no later than 8:45 am to air up and water up if you need to. Wheels down at 9:00 am this week sharp!

If you've not read our group's safety rules, please read them here.

Don's Reply to our Freezing rainy Sunday Ride:

The jacket was a lifesaver. My teeth were chattering so hard my jaw hurt and I almost bit my tongue off! After Ohio I spent 7 years in Rochester, New York and then 5 years as a hippie in the mountains of northern N.M. I like Austin, Texas just fine. Maybe less today, than most days, though! :)

Don Would you please write your REPLY over again, under my Temperature Dropped 15 degrees Note below. Seems that when I corrected some spelling I inadvertently lost your Awesome description of your Shivering Cold Ride and return to warmth. Sorry Don will be mindful next time when editing for corrections not to loose Reply's. Thanks Jim

And the Temperature dropped 15 degrees within minutes before our ride back to the Start at Bee Caves/71 Starbucks. Soaked and cold we began to warm over Starbucks Hot Coffee. But not until I went to my car first for an extra coat for Don as he replaced his soaked cotton T-shirt for a warm Dry jacket.
We had a Great group of 5 riders on our adventure this morning; Colin & Ann from Sydney Australia, Dave from London England, Jim (myself) from San Francisco California, and Don a long time 35 year resident of Austin from Ohio originally.
Take Care Folks and see ya next time

It was a good ride despite the weather shift. Good people. Jim could you please tell us the model of bike rack you have. I remember it was a Yakima.

Our friend Sam Ballard who rides regularly with us is taking it easy after bumping his head pretty hard on the Steele arm of his Car hydraulic rack. I spoke with Sam last night to see how he was doing. He said he would drive down and visit with us, but stay off his bike for awhile.
