Peter Framptom at ACL Live!

Yes, Virginia, there is more to life than cycling.

As usual we had a really great time socializing after the Steiner Lollipop ride Saturday.  Our new member Don Lujan regailed us with stories of all the rock concerts he's hit lately that bring back the music of (some of) our childhood!  We all agreed we want more chances to do things together off the bike.

I've officially dubbed Don Austin Cycling Meetup's newly appointed Social Chairman!

First up - totally off the bike of course - is Peter Framptom at ACL LIVE.

Details and ticket purchase link are here:

Please email Don directly by clicking on his photo, or make comments on this event page ON THE COMMENT AREA (not in your RSVP) in order to coordinate with each other.  I'm most likely not able to attend this time due to a really heavy schedule that week.

WooHoo !! Like I have any idea what I'm doing on here...

I have heard good things about this concert and Frampton starts the show with the entire 1st side of the album "Frampton Comes Alive !"  The show starts at 8 and I recommend getting the standing mezz tickets ($32).  They're the cheapest (if you get them at the window,  then minimal extra fees) and you can move around the venue a bit.  Cash bar has over priced drinks,  but what can you do.  With the show starting at 8pm,  I will probably eat downtown before the show in case anyone has sugestions.  Come on out and have a rockin' good time !!  I recommend ear plugs (just in case).

It was a really great show, but several members of the running meetup group came out for dinner and drinks so I wasn't completely alone. I'll let you know when the next concert comes along !

Wow what a show ! Just short of 3 hours and the 61yo Peter Frampton never stopped playing the entire time. This was a phenomenal show by a superb performer. All the hits, the Talk box and lots of extremely good guitar work (not as much hair as he once had...). One of those shows that you were glad you made time for.
