ADF consist of passionate documentary fans in the Austin Area. We arrange Meet-Ups to attend quality showings of documentary films locally, and we also support local documentary filmmakers in the area. Members can also host events and suggest documentary films.
Our group has 2 or more Coffee Meet-N-Greet events per month. This gives you an opportunities to chat with and meet new members, and brain storm ideas with the group and organizers. These events rotate to different parts of the city. You are welcome to suggest your favorite coffee shop.
It would be really great if you answer a survey about the type of films you like, what part of town you would like to see documentaries.
We especially like films that are thought provoking, about culture (i.e Faubourg Tremé), art /Music(i.e Ai WeiWei the Provocative Chinese Artist, Hands On a Hardbody, Sound City), that affects us all as a society (i.e Chasing Ice), historical, moving, inspiring, thought provoking, intriguing (Ping Pong, a film about 80+ year olds' competing in world competition) ...social topics of interest (i.e. Girl Rising, A Place At The Table).
ADF members occasionally lean heavily on issues about agriculture/ nature – our water, food the planet. Social / Political (Yellow Fever) Agriculture/Nature (i.e. More Than Honey). Feel free to check out our previous events. Film suggestions are encouraged, we ask that you stay within our guidelines.
