Received a call from an entrepreneur in NYC in need of a Drupal Dev/Themer with extra cycles this month. Not guaranteed to be a paid project but may be of interest to those of you looking to expand your portfolios.  If interested, please respond directly to Michael Hauben, [address removed].

Dear Pat, per our conversation, please feel free to post and share the information below:

I found you on DrupalCamp Austin as part of a search to find a Drupal/Web Developer.  I am in New York, and in the process of launching 3 Social Media/User-Generated websites (Magazine-Oriented, Editor-Managed, Lifestyle and Business related brands).  We are building our portfolio of sites upon Drupal, and I have been working part-time with 4 very good developers.  One of our developers has to leave the project, and we need “an extra hand” to help us get to the finish line.  80% of our site foundation is configured, albeit still in work (Front-End/Views/Panels/Theming, Back-End/Workflow/Admin, Community/Organic Groups, Ubercart, Ad-Platform, API Integration, Mobile Integration, Features/Site Cloning).  Our architecture is designed to converge Content, Community and Commerce into a single brand experience, and there are a variety of tasks which need to be accomplished as we make a big push to seamlessly finish the sites by mid-January.

Our objective is to launch our beta sites in January 2011, and then bring aboard our Editors, Writers, Partner Developers, Ad Sales personnel and Investors (we are taking a “live” product first approach).  The project should take 5-6 weeks on a very part-time basis which can be accomplished on your ‘off-hours’ around other commitments (days/nights/weekends).  Ultimately, we are looking for someone who has time for a side-project between now, the Holidays and early-mid January.  We have a Project Manager, and our team works virtual via Drupal Storm, Skype/email/phone, and SVN.  As a non-funded start-up, compensation is back-end/deferred as part of shared success based on achieving investment and/or revenue targets.  In the near-term, we do have some powerful brand names, and the project will definitely add to your expertise, portfolio and network relationships.
