On August 26 at 7pm, Todd Neinkirk, co-founder of Four Kitchens, will be giving a presentation. Since getting your feet wet with Theming - An Introduction, you may be looking for the best in subtheming design practices. Grid-based design is an integral part of many professional web designers' toolkit, and Drupal's blocks, regions and complex content benefit especially well from this discipline. Presentation - Creating Grid-based Drupal Themes


This presentation will cover the basics of grid-based design, its transition from print to web, and its application in website prototyping, design, and Drupal theming. The 960 Grid System (http://960.gs) and the NineSixty theme (http://drupal.org/project/ninesixty) for Drupal will be explained in detail, as will applying the grid principles to virtually any custom design or theme.


Speaker - Bio

Todd Ross Nienkerk is a co-founder of Four Kitchens, an industry-leading, open-source development, design, and consulting firm in Austin, Texas. He has delivered presentations on grid-based Drupal theming at DrupalCamps in Dallas, Boston, Copenhagen, Helsinki, and Stockholm. Later this month, he will co-present a session at DrupalCon Paris.
