"The Day of the Doctor" (Doctor Who 50th Anniversary) Watch Party

The War Doctor! The return of 10 and Rose! Matt Smith's second-to-last episode! Let's get together and watch "The Day of the Doctor" as it's simulcast around the world. The episode airs at 1:50 p.m. (Brits are weird), so we'll gather a few minutes early to chat and swap predictions.

Watch the trailer here and check out the prequel webisode (featuring yet another past-Doctor cameo) here.

Sorry I missed this, hope you didn't have problems with the simulcast. I was watching at home, but it kept pausing to buffer. Thanks for organizing this, hope a few Dr Who meetup members stopped by. (Most of them were going to Austin Comic-con to see it.)

It was an absolute success. Totally packed house. Thanks for giving us the added attendance!

Great! It's the first time I've watched Doctor Who with a group. I hope to do it again.

I haven't seen the latest season. Should I watch this now, or wait until I've seen all the latest episodes?

Keep in mind that the 10th Doctor won't know what's happened for the 11th Doctor, so any critical details will probably be mentioned. You may want to see The Name of the Doctor, if possible.

I don't think you need to watch the whole season 7, but last 2-3 episodes would help. If lots oF Who fans show up, they can help with continuity nods, this episode will probably have a lot of them. However, its written to appeal to the broadest audience possible, so you won't have to catch them to understand the plot.

I will be coming. Would it be okay to cross post this to the Austin Dr Who meetup? If its okay, do you want to limit the number of people coming (might get a lot of signups, and I don't know how big the Brixton is). Anyway, I want to see the simulcast and the 3-D version monday night too.

They have four flat screens inside and going to do the sound through the PA system. They can easily handle a large number so go ahead and cross post to your group. The more the merrier!!
