On August 10th, the Austin Yoga community will have the opportunity to participate a special musical event called: Bhakti times infinity, a Sacred Journey into the heart of Kirtan. This event will be held from 7:30 to 9:00 PM at Sanctuary Yoga located at 1006 South 8th Street in Austin, Texas. (Doors will open at 7:00PM.) The Kirtan will be led by me, Jaynee and Roopa Lele. Roopa is from India but currently resides in the Dallas area where she regularly performs devotional music.
What is a Kirtan one may ask? According Jai Uttal, a world wide Kirtan artist, Kirtan is defined as the following: Kirtan is for all people. There are no experts, no beginners. The practice itself is the teacher, guiding us to ourselves. Kirtan allows us to enter into a mystery world-a world where all the logic of our minds, and all of the conditioning are left outside. With Kirtan, we create a temple inside the altar of our hearts, a place of refuge, a place of love and a place of just being. With musical assistance from guitar, harmonium and singing bowls, Jaynee (local Kirtan artist) invites you to delve deeper into the realm of consciousness, and relax into the eternal bliss . This will be an inclusive event which is why there will be a sliding scale $5.00-$15.00. A portion of proceeds going to the Amala Austin foundation. No prior singing experience required. Event includes sound bath utilizing the healing technology of crystal healing bowls. For additional details, go to: www.jayneemusic.com. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
