Sharding for Time Series Data with Jake Angerman

Electronic Arts is hosting a talk by Jake Angerman, Solutions Architect at MongoDB: Sharding for Time Series Data, with a focus on sharding.

"Now that MongoDB is set up to aggregate our sensor data, we’ll need to set it up to perform under heavy loads. MongoDB offers sharding capabilities so we can horizontally scale our application and ensure consistent performance. In this session, Jake Angerman will go through sharding options in our Time Series application. You will walk away deeper understanding of how to configure your sharding setup, choose a shard key and leverage this feature for optimal scale."

Jake Angerman is a Solutions Architect at MongoDB where he helps customers design and build reliable, scalable systems using MongoDB. He has spent the majority of his career as a field engineer for industries as diverse as systems management, high speed data, and interactive home security. His background spans systems programming, network engineering, security, and consulting.

The address is 7700 W Parmer Ln. If you’re coming from the east you’ll take a right on Tamayo Dr to enter the campus. If you’re coming from the west you’ll take a left on Tamayo Dr to enter the campus.

The auditorium is located in building A.  See the map below with the main entrance labeled and building A circled.

Lot 2 would be the most convenient for parking.

Food and drink will start at 6:30; talk at 7:00. Thanks EA and MongoDB for bringing Jake into town!
