It's that time again - time for another SHOOT-A-RAMA!
I've had some really great feedback for various types of events. One common theme is that many of our members would like the opportunity to shoot average, everyday people - kids, high school seniors, moms and dads. The Shoot-A-Rama provides this opportunity!
We've held this event several times. It started with the concept that photographers never seemed to have a good headshot of themselves so we'd get together in-studio and shoot one another. A makeup artist was present for the ladies and we had two sets to shoot on.
Well, that was the concept but our group of photographers took this concept so much farther. At past events, people have brought all kinds of interesting outfits and props (such as soccer balls, violins and guitars) and, while we certainly got some headshots, this creative group of people got shots of so much more. Our people have had the chance to shoot one another but also kids, families and even several aspiring models! One shooter even produced an image that looked like a CD cover!
So here we go again! This time, we'll have three sets with studio lights. The first set will be a contemporary portrait set. The second set will be the modern/chic set. The third set will be classic canvas backdrops with four options from which to choose. Finally, I'm adding a fourth "mini set" using only speedlights! You'll have plenty to work with!
A makeup artist will be available to do makeup applications at a discounted rate as well as more glamorous looks!
The fun will start at 1:00 pm and go until 5:00pm.
With all of that, this Shoot-A-Rama should be another great time! You'll have many options to shoot and be shot - and don't be shy when it comes to getting in front of the camera! Here are a few things you can do -
- Get some headshots of yourself
- Bring your kids and family to get some great images!
- Bring props and shoot something editorial
- Persuade yours truly to do some wild lighting set up (it won't take much!)
This event is for ALL experience levels. I'll help anyone who needs it with camera settings and pointers. Payment is only required if you're shooting - you can bring friends and family members to sit for photos at no charge. When you RSVP, only include the number of shooters in the "yourself + guests" field. If you're planning on bringing friends/family to shoot just make a note with your RSVP.
Everyone has had a blast everytime we've done this so come on out, bring your creativity and have some fun!
