Meet to Learn, to Shoot, and to Share our Photography

This meetup group, Austin Photography Workshops, has been a valuable resource to me in learning more about “strobist photography”, and also practicing portraits. After noticing that it has fallen dormant for a few months, I decided to take over as organizer, and hopefully, with your help, we can revive it now.

I’d like to continue the focus on strobism, but also to develop meetups that deal with many other aspects of photography. Maintain the sharing of tips and techniques, but build more meetups around new locations picked for their rich shooting opportunities.

Unless a meetup location has an entrance fee, all meetings will be free. Photographers from beginners to pros are all welcome: Beginner’s Mind is best anyway.

Please use the Message Board (under Discussions) to post your ideas for locations and topics for meetups, or whatever you’re concerned about in your photography: http://www.meetup.com/Austin-Photo/messages/boards/ If you’ve got photos you’d like to share, you’re invited either to create a new album to post them in, or you could add them to the existing albums (under Photos).

Photography can be a powerful way to see the world, and a pleasure to share. Let’s get together to shoot and to share our enjoyment of photography.
