One Light Workshop

This is an all-day workshop from 10 am - 6 pm. We'll start by learning exposure basics on a DSLR camera, and spend the rest of the day learning how to create amazingly lit photos using only a single flash. We'll spend a short time looking at how to improve the quality of on-camera flash, then learn the many, many ways to create creative, beautiful light by taking that flash off the camera. What you'll learn:

Shooting in Manual Mode

Exposing for Natural Light

Using your Camera's Histograms

Understanding Stops

Setting Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO, and White Balance

Using Radio Triggers for Off-Camera Flash

Lighting Equipment Basics

Diffused Light with Umbrellas

Using Reflected Light

Combining Flash with Natural Light

Show-stopping Creative Light Setups

Principles of Light Shaping

Class starts at 10 am and ends at 6 pm, with 1 hour for lunch, and plenty of time for hands-on shooting.

Bring your DSLR camera and a flash if you have one.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
