Texas Photo Festival in Smithville, TX

This is the 3rd annual Texas Photo Festival in downtown Smithville, TX (about 40 miles east of Austin, on Hwy 71). It's free, multidimensional, with a wealth of shooting opportunities. Setups include vintage military craft with men in period uniforms, action photography at the skate park,  a fashion show for runway photography practice,  and there's models everywhere. Mainly 1-4pm,  and happy hour @ 5pm.

The welcome rainshowers probably limited the turnout slightly, but there were still lots of photographers as well as people and other creatures to photograph. The good folks in Smithville did a great job adapting to the changed conditions.

    Continued from Tom Bettes:
We have a top ebay seller holding a seminar on ebay photography and marketing, Holland Photo doing a seminar on how best to work with your photo lab, and several more sessions. We hope everyone will come out and enjoy a day in Smithville. For those coming from Austin, the drastic fire provides some interesting landscape shots along Highway 71. Also Doug Box and Randy Kerr will not be leading any sessions this year.

    Update from Tom Bettes:
I am chairman of the Photo Festival in Smithville this year. We are really excited about the sets, seminars, and opportunities this year has to offer. We will have vintage military craft with men dressed in the appropriate period uniforms, action photography at the skate park, portrait photography as a benefit to the 1500 families who lost their homes in our community, and a fashion show designed to let everyone be a runway photographer.
