SFC Potluck @ Barr Mansion

The Primal Group has gone to this potluck in the past. This is from the website.

"At the potluck, we will recognize the new crop (pun) of Citizen Gardener and Permaculture Design Course Graduates and honor many of your favorite Farmers, Ranchers, Gardeners, Chefs, Restaurants, and Market Folks.

The event is open to the public, all you need is a friendly smile and a friend, and a potluck dish - salad, side dish, veggie, meat & veggie, or dessert - made with all/some Local ingredients - from your own garden, a Farmers Market, Farm Stand, or retail market. Also, please bring a TX-Beverage of your choice for yourself and a little extra to share with an old/new friend.

We could use volunteers to set up at 5:30p-6:30p or help clean-up at 9:00p-10:00p. If you are available, please email Dick Pierce at dickpiercedesigns (AT) gmail (DOT) com

To thank the Barr Mansion for their hospitality, a $5 donation is suggested. "

It was great to meet Kate & Jules. Kate brought a wonderful kale salad and Jules brought a guinea fowl and egg dish. We listened to several people in the local food culture introduce themselves. Even the mayor of Elgin showed up! Jules saved the evening when the microphone went out, by working on problems with the speakers and microphone. Many citizen gardeners received their diplomas this evening.

I will be wearing a sparkly blue & green ribbon corsage with my name tag so perhaps people will be able to spot me better at a distance.

Hi Mansai, I hope that you were able to line up a ride. I would offer but I don't live that close to you.

I can help out before & after, just can't stay in between due to a prior commitment. But I didn't want to miss another year of this event, and I haven't been back to the Barr Mansion since my wedding there in 1990.

I just made a reservation for seven at the Potluck. If you want to join us please RSVP here so I can increase the number on the reservation.

I probably will prepare and bring a local grass fed beef entree. I need my meat! The last time I attended one of these, there seemed to be a lot of vegetable dishes and desserts.

Let's seat together at one table. To recognize me, I will wear a name tag with my name, Linda, and Austin Primal Living Group on it.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
