Law and Liberty

Martin G. Selbrede is the vice president of Chalcedon (pronounced kal-SEE-dun), a Christian educational organization founded in 1965 by R. J. Rushdoony to promote a distinctively Christian solution to the serious problems facing mankind. Martin will be speaking on the relationship of God's law to two prevailing aspects of liberty: liberty from the sword (the question of national defense) and liberty from New World Orders (providing a blueprint for how to not only to arrest our current slide into totalitarianism but to profoundly reverse it).

Martin demonstrates how the law of God defunds and derails all facets of NWO pretensions (statist education, social spending, civil taxation, monetary inflation, debit limits, provision for war). He exposes forms of oppression we've unwittingly subjected ourselves to, and the steps to take to lift them, by relocating the proper locus of personal responsibility. Precisely because "the wicked frame mischief using law" (Psalm 94:20), our current hair-of-the-dog solutions are doomed to give us more of the same.

Martin then focuses on aspects of national defense (age for military service, possession of invasive forces, scorched earth policies, Realpolitik, and preemptive war) to illustrate that peace is a byproduct of something else entirely and can never be achieved directly. The law of God speaks to liberty from swords both internal (Marxist class warfare) and external (conflict in theaters around the world) and puts the lie to the perpetually failed policies that humanism continues to impose at such great cost upon our nation.

Come with an open mind. This is strong medicine that nobody will want to hear but which everybody absolutely needs to hear.

Martin's going to present the boiler plate of the Bible studies he taught a few years ago. If you've got questions or criticisms, he's got answers!
