Guerrero Park Hike

Join us for a 3-mile easy hike which explores the interplay of the city growth in the area and the impact it has on the Colorado river. We’ll look at the alluvial processes that happen along the river as well as the kinds of birds and other wildlife who live here. No open toed shoes, and long pants are suggested, as there is Poison Ivy in the park. Provided the dam is not releasing a lot of water, we should be able to get down into the river bottom directly to explore. Well-behaved dogs on leash are OK; owners must scoop the poop.  Bring at least a half litre of water.  Please be considerate - if you RSVP yes, then attend.  Attendance will be recorded.  Co-Leader: James Choate .  Join us for lunch afterwards

James did a great job of leading his first hike. I didn't realize that this park existed before today. Beautiful day with lots of interesting information about the history of the area.

I have to back out, as something's come up. Hopefully someone from the wait list can now go.

Normally I ask folks to stop at the first parking lot as they enter the park (note the 1 way sign).

Where exactly are we meeting? On Google Earth it looks like Grove Blvd dead ends at the parking lot for some of the baseball fields. Is that it?
