Service Project: Pease Park restoration

Help pitch in for Be the Change Day - where groups throughout the city join together on service projects.  The Sierra Club will be cleaning up and restoring vegetation at Pease Park, along Shoal Creek in central Austin, working with the Pease Park Conservancy.

I was hiking the Shoal Creek trail around Pease Park last week and got to walk on some wonderful newly tended/mulched trails. Thanks to all who worked. It looks and feels awesome. I hope to join you doing the work next time.

Please also register at the Givepulse site (see URL above), so the event organizers get credit for our participation. We'll be meeting at the south end of Pease Park, near the Picnic tables. There will be a variety of tasks with tools provided - trash pick up, weeding, light tree care and invasive plant removal.

Will we need to bring our own gloves? Is it recommended that we wear long sleeves or long pants? Boots? I'm assuming that they will furnish the equipment. They don't give a lot of details.
