Lake Pointe Bee Cave Trail Hike - Canceled

We will meet in the Walgreen's parking lot, and then walk a few blocks to the start of the trail.  The trail is a roughly 4 mile loop down to Lake Austin.  The trail follows a steep and shaded canyon down to the lake.   On return, the trail is along the rim of the canyon.  At Lake Austin, there is a community dock, where we can break before the arduous hike back up to the canyon rim.  Round trip time is between 2 and 2.5 hours.

The trail is very steep and rocky in sections, so a walking stick and sturdy shoes should be considered.  Mosquito repellent is also a good idea.

Since this is a endangered species preserve, dogs are not allowed.

The club appreciates a donation of a few dollars.

Seems to make sense to cancel. Maybe it can be rescheduled to next weekend?

Any chance that the hike could be postponed until Sunday? The weather will be improved and sunny.

I'm starting to wonder about the weather as well. Looks like it will be rainy and in the 30s. Will the hike still go on?

Can someone tell me where this is exactly. I'll just do it on my own.

Carol, it's a neighborhood greenbelt and technically you have to have the permission of a homeowner in the area in order to be on the trails

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
