Wilderness First Aid Course

CLASS IS FULL.  Look for  this class offered again next year.

Austin Sierra Club Outings and Inner City Outings are offering the Wilderness First Aid course the weekend of May 3-4, from 9am to 5pm each day.

Location: To be sent after registration (Northeast Austin area)

Cost: $90.  Advance registration is required.  No refunds after April 30.

An informative class on how to prevent, recognize, and treat wilderness medical emergencies, the course is required for Sierra Club trip leaders, but valuable for anyone who spends time outdoors, wanting to improve their skills and build confidence.  Our instructor (John Green of Texas Rope Rescue) has over 25 years experience as an Emergency Medical Technician, and has earned great praise for his real-world teaching skills.  A small class size makes for a personal learning experience.

RSVP on Meetup does not reserve you a spot - Please email Linda Kernahan <[masked]> for registration and payment info.  Priority is given to current Sierra Club Outings and ICO leaders and leaders-in-training.

John Greene taught from real world experience which made the instruction interesting. The hands on practice was extremely helpful. Awesome group of folks; fun, enthusiastic, and eager to learn.

Great class! Learned a lot, and it was tons of fun. Except when David tried to show how he would treat a bloody nose—enough with the carotid tourniquet! :-)

    Hi Brianna,
I could give you a ride. I live north of the river, so if someone south volunteers that might be easier. But you're not too far out of my way.
