I think it's a great place for anyone who is interested in starting their own hive and also to meet other beekeepers and learn from each of them. Since I missed the first meetup of the year I missed the starting out part which would have been great for somebody like me who is just getting in to this, but there is always folks there willing to help. Would be nice to have a workshop to actually make our own boxes and frames with hand tools - there is something about making your own stuff.

Always a great learning experience. It would be nice to also identify where people roughly live or have hives so that we could potentially help each other with our hives.

We truly learned a ton from the 101 Seminar and the additional afternoon classes. We would like to begin beekeeping organically and with the bees in mind, the different hives were well explained as well as suiting up and bee keeping tools. Between a book that I had previously read and this seminar, we are leaning towards the Top Bar. Thanks again for everyone's hard work to put this together. Looking forward to becoming more involved.

Beats WCABA hands down! Relevant information. I liked the open Q&A session after the presentation, and that other beeks in the audience were allowed to offer their answers. I also liked that people seemed to know each other and support other beek's efforts.

Whoever thought to start this organization is a visionary. When I was wanting to learn about beekeeping I couldn't find any groups where I could discuss my questions to get more local information about bees. The internet is great and so are books, but most focus on areas of the US other than central Texas.

an interesting/diverse group of people - all levels of experience - some seem interested in trying new things/experimenting - some in doing things the way they've always been done - it'd be good if more experienced people showed up to share their experience/opinions - the beginners (including me) have a lot of enthusiasm and book-knowledge

We have a wonderful bunch of caring people who can do a great deal to help preserve our honeybee and native pollinator populations in Austin. Now that Spring is approaching, it's time to order your bees and start building or acquiring hive boxes.

Because Beekeeping is fun and we are stewards of the life God has blessed us with it is important to conserve and protect life and liberty. Our bees represent both and are amazingly effective pollinators and producers of honey, wax, pollen and propelis, all of which improve our health and living. Bees in their natural state are probably where the strongest stock comes from. If we can replicate this as inner city or urban beekeepers we may theoretically save them from extinction and possibly help save ourselves as well.
