June Meeting

Topic: How to find your queen.

There has been lots of talk on the discussion board about needing help finding the queen, so we thought we'd change up the schedule to talk about this. Bring your questions and any tips you have to share.

As always, there will be time for Q&A on all beekeeping topics.

I try to schedule one or two a month, send me an email and I will let you know when I have 4 people for a class, I have several interested, but only take 4 at a time. ;) So everyone has a bee suit and we don't stress out the bees too long.

I have not had the opportunity to find a class of basics of bee keeping. I have had a hive since March and I know it needs some attention, I have ordered suppers for the hive, been reading some books but some of the information is confusing. Would like to take a basic course class. Can you recommend one.

The Austin Area Beekeeper's Association (this group) will be hosting an expansion of our annual beekeeping classes at a full day seminar in January. There will be beginning, intermediate, and advanced classes offered. Many more details will follow in the coming months, but keep it in mind!

I am not sure at this point what I need to add, what I really need at this point is some good guidance.

David, please tell me if you plan to add another Brood box before you add Suppers? We also are need to think about adding suppers for our new hive we started the first of May. We attended RR Bee Acadamy and highly recommend it.
