Somatics is a movement therapy. Our movements are created in the frontal part (sensory and motor cortex) of the brain. If the brain cannot create these movements, physically we cannot perform them. This results in stiffness, inflexibility, poor posture, and pain.
The somatic movements are designed in such a way that they engage the frontal part of the brain, and the brain gets retrained to create those movements. This approach increases flexibility, reduces chronically tight muscles and eliminates pain. The somatic movements are gentle and restorative movements and are appropriate for all levels.

During the workshop, we will:
* Perform some simple somatic exercises;
* Talk about what happens anatomically and neurologically when we move; discuss neuroplasticity
* Experience hands-on techniques that will improve flexibility and range of movement.
