With the Austin over 40 group
Changed date--didnt realize 3/2 is UT's open house--
Lets continue to explore the wonderful arts that Austin has to offer, and, again, this is free--(Love that)
This is the Spring 2013 new exhibits at UT Austin Visual Art Center
They have a 45 minute tour/explanation that will continue to push us to expand our minds (Yiks!)
(Just an FYI-- Generally anything that is Museum related, is kid friendly as I will either have my sophomore in high school or my UT kid in tow--(Hopefully both) )
Okay, something from their web page
Highlights of the season include Diffuse Reflection Lab by Lead Pencil Studio, the VAC’s spring 2013 Artist-in-Residence; Into the Wild Meaning, featuring the sculptures of Buenos Aires-based artist Diego Bianchi; New Prints 2012, the forty-third presentation of the International Print Center New York’s (IPCNY) New Prints Program; and Overlapping Impressions, presenting typographic prints made with the Rob Roy Kelly American Wood Type Collection. Center Space Project, the student organization of the Visual Arts Center, presents Til sjøs (At sea), a solo show featuring the performance, video, and installation work of Zoe Berg. The season concludes with the annual Studio Art and Design Exhibitions, featuring works by the Department’s graduating MFA and BFA studio art and design students.
Starting this spring, the VAC initiates Walk-In, a series of guided public tours happening every Saturday at 2pm. With the VAC’s multiple galleries and ever changing exhibitions, each weekly tour will feature a different theme and conversation topic as a launching pad for visitors to enjoy. A VAC guide will meet participants at the front desk for a tour through the galleries with plenty of time for questions about the work on display. Tours will last approximately 45 minutes and no reservation is necessary.
Hope to see you there
