I was a DJ at the UC Berkeley radio station for four years, and I love to sing. I love reading and teaching and collecting records. I write some, and have been working on an ESL text. I love learning languages; I am credentialed in Vietnamese, loved French in high school and am currently focusing on Spanish and Cantonese.
Considering my wife and I both had the reputation of being non-cooks before we got married last summer, now that we live away from family and friends, we have made it the focal point of our weekends. We have started to find some recipes that we really like, and cooking weekly has given us a chance to learn from our mistakes and improve. We were recently inspired by a trip to New Orleans.
My wife and I have just been in town since September. I am in the Educational Leadership program at Texas State after having taught elementary school in Oakland, CA. My wife, Lan, is in finance, and her company transferred her from Santa Monica, CA.
