"If I don't have a project going, I sit down and begin to write something - a character sketch, a monologue, a description of some sight, or even just a list of ideas. " Thomas Perry So after the AWESOME success of the last workshop we're back Bigger and BETTER than ever! (if you missed it, you really did miss out on an awesome time!) We have a really great team working together on this and the support is tremendous for what we're trying to achieve in Austin. We had 13 attendees last time, and a film producer who was kind enough to film some of the workshop! More on that later. Here's the details for the next meet. We shall be meeting on Sunday the 28th of February at: Galaxy Dance Studios 1700 S. Lamar Suite 338 Austin, TX Start time is 7pm sharp. No problems with entry this time, I convinced them to give me a key! This month we will be starting with some more of those improvisation games to warm us up for the first half, but then we will be moving on to some class performances of our own 1-2 minute MAXIMUM monologues. Everyone will be expected to prepare and bring a small monologue to perform to the group. This can be anything from Shakespeare to you're favourite scene in legally blonde (if there are any monologues that last a minute or more int hat movie...) Don't worry about perfecting it, we'll be performing it a few times to the class with group feedback in order to help you prepare and finalise the piece to perform in an upcoming showcase (should you so wish) You will however want to have memorised it by the time we meet. The last meet was such a success I am completely excited and thrilled to be meeting you all again. If you're interested in seeing what went down at the last meet feel free to check out our BRAND SPANKING NEW website.
