The Paddlefest was great fun. Thanks to Ken Johnson and all the people who help him make it a success every year.

YES! Ken deserves an awful lot of credit for pulling this together year after year. It takes a huge amount of effort to coordinate all the activities, tours, lessons, demos, bbq dinner, etc. Much Appreciated!

This year's paddlefest was once again.. Great! Individual mileage may vary of course, and with a huge number of lessons, tours, and paddling possibilities everyone's experience could vary significantly. Friday afternoon I did a Lighthouse trip. Saturday was fiercely windy so I stayed at the Lighthouse Trails area and paddled various demo boats, and my own surfski. Sunday I played in the Surf off the beach at IB Magee. It was great!

Twas the night before Paddlefest, and all through the house
All the creatures were stirring, even the mouse.
The kayaks and gear were all packed with great care,
Knowing we’d all be meetin’ up there.

Does anyone carpooling? I have room in my truck?

Gail, I am looking for someone to ride with me. I have a 4-wheel drive Jeep Cherokee and can fit two kayaks on top. I can either ride with you or you with me. Send me a private message with your contact info and I will call you tomorrow to firm up plans.

Ken, I saw your list of kayaks that will be for sale at the PF. Will there be some sort of "swap meet" for parts and accessories as well? I have a nice Werner paddle I want to sell. I don't know if the Meetup group administrator would mind me advertising it here.

Rafael, there is a "Want to Buy/For Sale" area under the Discussions tab where you can post something like this and it will go out to all members who have indicated an interest in this discussion group.

Hi Kenneth, I will pay by 10/19, if I think I will definitely make it. If not, I will update my RSVP. I broke my foot, so I need to see how quickly it heals!

BOI - Born on the Island (Galveston) and raised in Corpus Christi. I've kayaked on lakes in Central Texas, Isle Royal in Lake Superior, Texas rivers Comal, Guadalupe, and Rio Grande - Boquillas canyon and Shamrock Island back of Mustang Island SP but never the beach!! Can't wait to try wave riding! Just worried about getting cold if I spill over in the waves??? What to wear for surf kayaking on the Gulf in winter. I just got back from Alaska. My Alaskan boyfriend an avid kayaker would so be laughing at me now. I'll check out your info, Kenneth. Thanks!!!

Alright! Can't wait... the previous Paddlefests have been a blast. I'm planning to bring my surfski.. and you know... actually paddle it in some surf for a change. Should be challenging and fun.

Do I need a sit on top kayak or can I use a sit in? I have an extra sit in, if we can use those, that I can bring.

The previous Paddlefests were great. If you only go to one paddle event a year, this should be The One. :-)

I'm super interested but have a conflict with the Storyfest my friend Purly Gates has told me about in GeorgeWest. That's on Saturday Nov 2.
Would it be possible to attend Paddlefest all day Friday, Saturday night and Sunday? I would miss Saturday daytime events. Hmmm. Sounds like a lot of running around in the car. Paddlefest might trump for fun.
