I have not heard anything on this. Sounds like the weather may be ok for this. Even rain on Sunday...but that is a week away.

  • Cathy K.

Ok...Found a seat by the coffee bar..at the Bristo...I brought the paddle.

    August 16

  • Cathy K.

Let's meet at the Whole Foods at 6th and Lamar.
Saturday, 10 am at the coffee bar. I'll be holding a paddle. The San Marcus river trip is tempting but I can't make it this time.

That shows the flow of the Llano in Junction, but I don't see the flow on the S. Llano near Telegraph where the springs flow into the river

I had shoulder surgery to have bone spurs and a small RC tear repaired one month ago. Thought I would be able to paddle after ~2 mos post-op but found out today to my dismay that river paddling will have to wait at least 4 months. So, sadly, I must bow out. Hope there is plenty of water and y'all have great fun!

    August 7

    • Cathy K.

Let's call the time 7:45p this Monday at Reds Porch. Praying for rain.

Need to ask about the campsite? Can we put a tent up? I know it is an entrance fee of $4/day. I do not know if it is extra to park. I know you can only have a camper/vehicle or two vehicles per site. sometimes finding another parking is hard. So, we may need to get another site next to yours.

    August 6

    • Cathy K.

Yes to tent. I think the max is 8 campers per site. Let's discuss carpooling. Meeting this Monday evening at Reds Porch on South Lamar at 7p

Hello everyone, I paddled the South Llano from the state park down to the dam this weekend. Had to get out and walk 3 times and it was very shallow in others. Unless they get more water soon, it will be more walking than paddling. Hope this helps. It is a beautiful river and worth the trip. For what it is worth I also paddled the Guadalupe near Ingram, also needs more water soon.

Tips to stay cool... fill water balloons and cool them off in a cooler before tossing at someone, eat cold watermelon and hang out in the water.

Hi! I would love to join, but would like to bring my little trailer to camp in. Do you have a spot # so that I can try and get something close?

I have a 9 ft sit on top and a 10 foot sit inside kayak. Would the 9ft sot be ok for this river?

    1 · June 18, 2014

    • Kathy R

I have paddled this river in a 16ft SOT (true, although not by intention), a 7ft sit-in and an 11ft SOT (the best by far). I survived and had fun in all three boats so either of yours would work. If the flow rate is low I would recommend the 10 ft SINK since you will be doing more paddling. My .02....

Cathy, I like your positive spin!

That is my favorite river to paddle. Wish I could go that weekend, if things change I will go. Also check out the Llano river up near Llano while it has water after the recent rains, went this last weekend and it was great!

Junction is a cute town. Let's hope for more rain. Camping in Texas is a challenge. One trip in Nov we went to town to buy space heaters. Imagine than. Shade is helpful add, a swimming hole and cold drinks and call it summer time.

    June 17, 2014

  • Kathy R

I would love to go--this is one of my favorite rivers but the flow has been pretty low for paddling over the past 3 years. If it's not going to be a dragfest (>75cfs), I'm in. Also, probably won't camp since tent camping in Aug in TX is not fun. Will look for a place nearby with A/C!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
